The Paul Morrison Guides Award 2008
Wanderlust magazine launched the Paul Morrison Award in 2006 to recognise the unsung heroes of the travel world - tour guides. Paul Morrison who died in December 2004 was the co-founder and former publisher of the magazine.

Jon Cannon is a writer and historian. Jon travelled the length and breadth of England and much further afield to research his new book about English Cathedrals.Ìý His aim was to reveal the human beings and explain the motivation that created these extraordinary structures.Ìý Jon often slept in a tent and walked or cycled to the building itself, giving a real sense of the experience of these buildings as they might have struck a medieval viewer.
