How many famous British Chinese can you name? Most young 大象传媒s are growing up without any reflections of themselves in the British media and many still turn to the East for their role models: martial arts stars or Cantopop singers from Hong Kong. David Tse meets British Chinese actors David Yip (who made his name playing a Chinese detective on TV in the 1980s) and Sarah Lam (who appeared in the first British Chinese family on a British soap in Brookside) to discover the factors within, and outside of, the British Chinese community that have kept us invisible for so long.
