ADAM LONG Adam Long is the writer and director who was one of the founders of the Reduced Shakespeare Company. In his new show , a new musical comedy he takes us on a journey through the best of Dickens’ classic works and into the twisted corners of the author’s colourful life. Dickens Unplugged is at the Comedy Theatre, Panton Street, London SW1.
LYDIA KAVINA Ìýis one of the world’s leading Theremin players, an electronic instrument probably best known for its use on the Beach Boys 'Good Vibrations'. She is the great niece of Leon Theremin, who inventedÌýthis instrumentÌýand taught it to her. On 4th June she is playing at theÌý Southbank to accompany the Phillip Warnell film The Girl with X-Ray Eyes.
OLIVIA GILES
Olivia Giles was working as a lawyer six years ago when she caught meningococcal septicaemia and had to have her hands and lower legs amputated to save her life. She has since founded the charity , with fellow amputee Jamie Andrew, which helps to supply prosthetic limbs to developing countries such as Malawi and Zambia.Ìý Please note that a new 500 Miles website will be availableÌýfrom 16th June.
KOS EVANS
Kos Evans is one of the world’s top marine photographers with over twenty years experience. Her trademark dramatic and breathtaking images of speeding yachts or powerboats are usually taken from a dangerous angle, either from the top of a 200 foot mast, underwater or leaning out of a helicopter. Her latest exhibition Voyage (with artist Pippa Blake) is at the , Pulborough, West Sussex from 7th to 21st June.
