LAURENCE EDWARDS 听is a sculptor. He studied the traditional methods of bronze casting in India but has now returned to his Suffolk roots. He has an exhibition at this year's , which features a series of three eight foot high bronze giants cast from mud, clay and vegetation from around his studio in Butley Creek. Creek Men is at the Aldeburgh Festival Exhibition, Snape Maltings, Suffolk, 13th-29th June.听 You can also see a film of Laurence at work on the Sheeran Lock gallery website.听
JAMES ORBINSKI
James Orbinski is a past President of听听and is currently Professor of Medicine and Political Science at the University of Toronto. In his book An Imperfect Offering he recounts his experiences and the challenges he faced as a young doctor working in countries such as Somalia, Afghanistan and Rwanda with the humanitarian aid agency.听 His book An Imperfect Offering: Dispatches from the Medical Frontline is published by Rider Books.
SIMON ATTWELL
Simon Attwell is a musican and co-founder of the South African group听Freshlyground.听 The band incorporates elements of traditional South African music, blues and jazz, as well as indie rock and his instrument, the Mbira, is the distinctive sound of the band. Their new album 惭补鈥檆丑别谤颈 is out on Wrasse records.
JUNE CRISFIELD CHAPMAN
June Crisfield Chapman is an artist and wood engraver. Her engravings are taken from literary themes or theatre characterisations, including characters from Shakespeare, Chaucer, Commedia dell-arte and Ancient Greek plays. She currently has an exhibition of her work at听, Bankside,听London SE1 which runs until 8th October.
