Libby Purves听is听joined by听Alexander Rose, Jane Wellesley, Chen Shi-Zheng,听and Philip Glenister.
ALEXANDER ROSE
Alexander Rose is nineteen and saw his friend Eugene Attram killed by a gang in 2006; his cousin was stabbed the following year. He has recently won an Anne Frank award for his campaign against gun and knife crime, Stop (Solve This Ongoing Problem), using his skills in graphic design to make posters and T-shirts to promote his cause. He is also involved with听the听project, in which young people use the internet to campaign about issues affecting their lives.

JANE WELLESLEY
Jane Wellesley is a former TV producer and the daughter of the Eighth听Duke of Wellington. Her book A Journey Through My Family, tells the story of the First Duke of Wellington, who was her great great great grandfather,听of his听private and public life, and his legacy seen through the eyes of those who followed in his footsteps. A Journey Through My Family is published by Orion.听 Jane is giving a talk at the , Royal Hosptial Road, London SW3 on 18th November at 7pm.听

CHEN SHI-ZHENG
Chen Shi-Zheng is the acclaimed Chinese theatre and opera director. He conceived, created and directed a stage adaptation of the 16th Century Chinese novel by Wu Cheng'en, together with musician Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, currently at London's O2 Arena, in a specially constructed tent. Monkey: Journey To The West is at the O2 Arena until 5th December.

PHILIP GLENISTER
Philip Glenister is the actor known to millions as DCI Gene Hunt in the 大象传媒 television series Life on Mars and . He has also starred in the award-winning Cranford, Calendar Girls and Clocking Off. In his book Things ain't what they used to be he takes a nostalgic trip back to the 70s and 80s, asking whether things were all they were cracked up to be? Things ain't what they used to be is published by Sphere.
