KATE CRAIG-WOOD
听set up the company Memset which is now one of the UK鈥檚 leading web and IT hosting providers. She is the winner of the 听in the Demeter category (sponsored by IBM), for the most inspiring entrepreneur aged between 26 and 35.听She has overcome personal hurdles having undergone听gender reassignment surgery in 2005 and now听works with the , helping young transgender people.

MARK RAFFLES

Mark Raffles is an octogenarian magician extraordinaire who is appearing in Ida Barr's So This is Christmas at the Barbican. From a showbiz family, he was taught by his magician uncle some of the tricks of the trade and started performing when he was eight. During the war he entertained the troops with ENSA and later saw a remarkable Italian called Giovani doing a pick-pocket act which he later went on to develop for himself. Ida Barr: So this is Christmas is at The Pit,听 from 10th to 23rd December.

MARK ROWLANDS
Mark Rowlands is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Miami. In his book The Philosopher and the Wolf he charts the relationship between himself and Brenin, his wolf, who went everywhere with him, even to his lectures, where he lay in the corner of the hall and dozed. The Philosopher and the Wolf is pubished by Granta.

ERIC BRISTOW
Eric Bristow MBE is one of the most successful darts players of the 1980s, who helped to turn the game into a worldwide spectator sport. Known as 'The Crafty Cockney', he won almost every tournament in the game including five World Championships. He currently works as a pundit and commentator for Sky Sports and tours Britain as part of the 'Legends Tour'. His autobiography The Crafty Cockney is published by Century on 18th December.
