Seeing double

Wild hair was certainly out of the question for women in the 1950's. It must be styled, neatly into curls otherwise people would talk. So, you bought a home perm kit, if you couldn't afford, or couldn't be bothered with a hairdresser.
One of the market leaders at the time was the Toni, and they had an advertising campaign which featured two twins, side by side, and asked the question - which twin has the Toni? Many sets of twins were used over the years, but a phone call from Lindy Henderson revealed that the first pair of twins to feature on the billboards in Britain was her mum, Elizabeth, and her twin sister Priscilla.
No two peas in a pod were as similar as these two, and fifty five years after they first appeared as the Toni twins, they still had聽Paul confused.
