Graham Perry spent twenty odd years in the RAF. In 1977 he was working with the MOD on the development of the Tornado aircraft. It was a multi-national effort between Britain, Germany and Italy, with the 3 nations working closely together.听
Graham had discovered that for as yet unknown reasons, the German Star Fighter fleet was suffering rather less wear and tear than its British counterpart. Graham felt it was his duty to find out why and duly angled an invitation for the听British delegation to visit a Luftwaffe base.
Once in听Munich they听they would then go by train to Memmingen in Bavaria but as he tells Michael it wasn't quite as straight forward as听that...听
