Wife Swapping

Teresa and Brian are divorced, Brian and Anita are married and Teresa and Anita are best of friends!

Brian’s two wives, past and present, liked each other on sight. Anita, Brian's present wife says, "We get on very well. In fact I sometimes feel like I’m her mother," and Teresa looks on Anita as a "mother-come-sister." The two women didn’t meet until 15 years after Teresa and Brian’s divorce, "So it wasn’t as if I’d taken him off her...", says Anita. It’s a perfect set up. Teresa’s delighted to have Anita’s two daughters nearby, and Anita’s says she’s unbothered by the way her daughters gets on with her husband’s ex-wife. Anita and Teresa don’t wait for a family occasion to get together. Teresa says, "We often go shopping together, and once a month we have a girls’ night out - for a good time!"

Some people find it a bit odd that they get on so well - aren’t they supposed to hate each other? Teresa’s view is that "life’s too short, so we get on with it." Anita enjoys introducing Teresa as "my husband’s ex-wife. I love the expression on their face...!" Both Anita and Teresa collapse with laughter when asked, "Do you ever talk about Brian?" - "Oh yes! All the time!", says Anita, "My favourite subject is ‘Did he ever do this to you when you were married?’

How do you get on with your ex-boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, partner or husband?
Do your exes get on with each other?
How do your family and friends react - do they think you're mad or simply accept the situation?
