We try to make ear-grabbing programmes about the whole world of work, public and private, from vast corporations to modest volunteers.
In Business is all about change. New ways of work and new technologies are challenging most of the assumptions by which organisations have been run for the last 100 years. We try to report on ideas coming over the horizon, just before they start being talked about. We hope it is an exhilarating ride.

Business Students
Every spring, business leaders from all over the world gather in the small Swiss city of St Gallen for a unique conference.
The International Students Committee Symposium is planned and meticulously organised by students from St Gallen University ... many of them doing business studies. It's their chance to plan a big event ... and then meet top people and exchange views with them on the big issues of the day.
In Business joined them for this year's event, the 33rd: devoted to the subject "Seeking Responses in Times of Uncertainty".
Sounds pretty pompous, but very timely following the Iraq war and the global business outlook of economic recession, deflation and mutual distrust.
In this week's programme, Peter Day hears from some of the bosses attending the Symposium, including Lord Griffiths, vice chairman of Goldman Sachs International and former head of Margaret Thatcher's No10 thinktank; Helmut Panke, chairman of the German car company BMW, Lord Marshall, chairman of British Airways; and India's Business Man of the Year 2002, the telecoms magnate SB Mittal, founder of Bharti Enterprises.
In Business also hears from some of the 200 students who won trips to the Symposium from all over the world ... the people who will shape business in the decades to come.
