Robert Carrier Celebrity chef who has died aged 82.
Robert Carrier was a cookery writer, restaurateur and television presenter. In 1972 he bought Hintlesham Hall a decrepit listed building in Suffolk which he converted into a home, three restaurants and a cookery school.
He was also the chairman of the Restaurateur’s Association of Great Britain in 1984Ìýfighting for liberalisation of the licensing laws. His books include ‘A Taste of Morocco’ and ‘Feasts of Provence’.
Robert Carrier’s television programmes include ‘Carrier’s Kitchen’, ‘The Gourmet Vegetarian’, ‘Carrier’s Caribbean’ and he wasÌýa regularÌýguest on Loyd Grosman’s ‘Masterchef’ and ‘Eat Your Words'. Loyd Grosman joins us from New York.

Graham Payn Memorial Service report
Graham Payn was an actor and singer who lived with Noel Coward for 28 years.Ìý
Following Coward's death in 1973 Graham Payn was assiduous in running the Coward estate and publishing books about Noel Coward's work.
They first met in London in 1932 when Payn auditioned for a role in a Noel Coward revue "Words and Music".Ìý Payn was a boy soprano who gained a part following an audition piece which involved him singing "Nearer My God to Thee" whilst tap dancing.ÌýÌý 10 years later they met again and began a relationship.Ìý Coward tried to promote Payn's career by casting him in plays and writing music for him but Payn didn't share Coward's determined work ethic.Ìý In an interview he recorded about his life Payn said he knew what "star quality" was and he didn't have it.

Graham Payn was born in South Africa on April 25th 1918. He died in Switzerland on November 4th 2005.

Kenneth Griffith Actor and documentary maker who has died aged 84.
Kenneth Griffith starred in a number of films and television series including ‘The Prisoner’ and 'The Shop at Sly Corner'. He also had a number of cameo roles in films such as ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’.
HeÌýmade a number of documentaries, many of which were very controversial.ÌýA film about Republican Michael Collins,Ìýwas banned from being broadcast for twenty years. The Independent Broadcasting Authority called it "an incitement to disorder".
Actress Sian Phillips describes what life was like living with Kenneth Griffith and Peter O’Toole. Tony Whitehead organised Kenneth’s eightieth birthday celebrations at the 'Chapter Arts Centre' in Wales in 2001.
Kenneth Griffith was born October 12th 1921. He died on June 25th 2006.

David Walton
EconomistÌýwho has died following a very brief illness agedÌý43.Ìý
David Walton was recognised as a pioneering financial thinker. Just over a year ago, he was appointedÌýas a member of the Bank of England's monetary policy committee, the body that has set UK interest rates since it was first given the power in 1997.ÌýDavid WaltonÌýwasn't afraid to vote for what he thought was best even if others on the committee didn't agree.
His death hasÌýwitnessed tributes from the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Governor of the Bank of England. The pound also fell against the dollar.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Business Correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones pays a tribute to his friend.

Father George Saintsbury A priest who promoted schoolboy boxing who has died aged 95.
George Saintsbury held various jobs before becoming a Roman Catholic priest.Ìý As a teenager he took up acting, (his great-great-great grandmother was Sarah Siddons), he was employed in a cork factory, fought in the war, worked as a hospital orderly, a naval stoker, a fire-warden and then at a succession of schools in Southern England teaching music and boxing.ÌýÌý In 1999 he published a booklet 'In Praise of Boxing' and in 2000 his autobiography 'A Teacher's Tale: sixty years of boxing'.
One of the schools was St Columba's College in St Albans where Brother Clement Pelletier was the head. Mark Lawson was a pupil and was taught boxing by Father George.
George Lewis Saintsbury was born in Edinburgh in 28th February 1911. HeÌýdied in London on June 4th 2006.
