Professor Raj Persaud looks at the very latest research into autism with Anthony Bailey, Professor of Autism, Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, and Professor Helen Tager-Flusberg, a Cognitive Neuroscientist at Boston University.
He talks to Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose son was diagnosed as autistic in the 60s, about her plans to create a global network of academics researching autism. And visits the school she set up for those with severe autism, Priors Court School in Berkshire.听
He's also joined by Wendy Lawson, an autism activist, who is campaigning to have autism viewed as part of a neural-diversity, rather than a disability.
