Simon Wilde discovered the oldest surviving piece of solid rock in this conglomerate. It was a grain of material too small to see with the naked eye. But the chemical evidence within it suggests there may have been continents and oceans even 4.4 billion years ago (very soon after our planet formed). This is also in Australia. | |
