"The Living World is the next best thing to being there. Our contributors are skilled naturalists who are able to reveal those fascinating facts about animals and plants that you don't always find in books. It's like having a personal guided tour of the countryside, without needing to leave the house."

| | | Brett Westwood, Alan Shepherd and John Micklejohn exploring Eades Meadow in all its glory | Eades Meadow
Tucked away down a small lane in Worcestershire is a modest-looking colourful field. 听Eades Meadow is a very important haymeadow as it represents a postcard from the past.听听It is thought of as one of the finest haymeadows in the country.
Having remained untouched by modern day farming methods for at least a century, Eades听Meadow shines out like a jewel.听 No plough or pesticides have been used on its swathes of grasses which have allowed the flowering plants to be found there to flourish naturally.听 Waves of colour appear across the seasons and one of the most striking are the purple heads of the green veined orchids in late Spring.听
Preserved as a nature reserve by the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Eades Meadow provides a haven for an extraordinary number of plants and insects.听
To keep it safe, there is just one open day a year when people can visit the reserve and walk amongst this green and floral heaven.听
Further details are on the .听
