Earlier this week we reported on a proposal to cull some of the 5000 hedgehogs in the Outer Hebrides.
Concern was raised as a result of the mammals eating the eggs of ground nesting birds, with some species' numbers dropping by up to 60 percent.

However Scottish Natural Heritage has postponed any culling plans and will look into alternative plans of action.
Today was contacted by a number of concerned hedgehog enthusiasts keen to voice their anger at any action that would harm the animals.
They included one 13-year-old girl who believes she can help. Listen to her proposal (right).
