Kenwood celebrates 60 years 16th May 2007
Kenwood mixer in 1950
Kenwood kitchen equipment celebrates their 60th anniversary this month. It was in 1947 that they launched the turnover toaster, beginning a trend to equip the kitchen with labour saving electronic appliances- blenders, mixers and later microwaves.

So how did new domestic technology serve to bridge the gap between traditional British society and modernity, accelerate female emancipation, while of course revolutionizing cooking? Jane Little is joined by cookery writer Prue Leith and Professor Sally Horrocks from Leicester University, to discuss this and to decide on today鈥檚 best and worst kitchen gadgets.
