Alek Wek is an international supermodel, commanding huge fees for her appearances on the cat walk and on the cover of fashion magazines. Her early life couldn鈥檛 have been more different. She was born in the Sudan and was forced to leave her home because of civil war. She and her family endured starvation and witnessed terrible violence. Eventually she came to Britain as a child refugee. As a teenager she was spotted by a talent scout at a market in Crystal Palace.
