South African children’s rights activist

In 2006 Dianne Lang was given a Heroes award in her native South Africa for her work with its orphaned and street children. However faced with many who have been abused or raped, she has spent years battling with the authorities in order to ensure the human rights of those children. She’ll be explaining to Jane how a women with few maternal instincts became the carer to so many children who call her Mama D.
