The impact of the government's new framework on the profession.

In September 2008, the government’s new framework for the care and development of children underÌýfive – the Early Years Foundation Stage – came into force. Since then, record numbers of childminders have left the profession. Why is this? And what impact has the government’s new system had on the profession? JaneÌýtalks to the Chief Executive of the National Childminding Association, Liz Bayram and Eileen Atkinson, a childminder who was recently inspected under the new system.
