Breast Cancer: Secondary Cancer 24 Oct 2007
Living with an incurable disease

Each year there are 44,000 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the UK and there are currently 172,000 women alive in the UK who have had a breast cancer diagnosis. Yet there are no figures available on the number of women with secondary breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care Nurse Researcher Liz Reed has carried out a study examining the needs of women living with secondary Breast Cancer and is calling for improved collection of data on its incidence.

Jenni talks to Liz Reed,听along with counsellor Melanie Lockett and patient Ann Fingret to discuss the psychological impact of living with the disease.
