Staying in the classroom and out of the maternity ward

Teenagers will continue in school or training until the age of 18 as part of new laws passed this week. By听2015 all 18-year-olds will have to participate in some form of education and training. As it stands teenagers can leave school at 16. Research from Norway and the US has shown that increasing compulsory schooling seems to reduce the instance of teenagers giving听birth. Jenni discusses the issues with听Simon Blake, Chief Executive of Brook, the sexual clinic for young people and a member 听of the Teenage Pregnancy Independent Advisory Group and Lucy Emerson from the Sex Education Forum.
