Why is it increasing in popularity?

Sales of haberdashery and sewing machines are soaring, and registration for sewing classes has also dramatically听increased.听Possibly inspired听by TV programmes like Gok鈥檚 Fashion Fix and Twiggy鈥檚 Frock Exchange, home sewing is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Anna McNamee goes to meet some new sewing aficionados and Jane talks to May Martin, sewing tutor from the WI鈥檚 Denman College, about why as a nation we are increasingly shunning the disposable nature of high street fashion in favour of doing it ourselves at home.
