Photograph shows beef and ale pie from ‘It’s all in the Pastry’ course, Betty's Cookery School
The traditional British pie is making a comeback

One of Britain's oldest culinary inventions, the pie, is making a major comeback. In recent years it’s been cast aside in favour of fast foods like burgers and pizza. But it's seeing something of a revival with sales soaring to a 30 year high. Jenni is joined by pastry tutor Amy Callin, from Betty’s Cookery School in Harrogate who will be demonstrating how to make a perfect shortcrust pastry and Kate Colquhoun, author of The Thrifty Cook.
