Food
Superfoods 2ÌýFeb 2007
Blueberries
Blueberries, broccoli and brazil nuts have all been identified as superfoods. Hardly a week goes by without powerful new claims being made for one food or another in the media. One supermarket even revealed that sales of walnuts went up by 80 per cent in one week, after the nut was declared the latest superfood.

Although, there is no agreed definition of a ‘superfood’ it is generallyÌýthought that these foods have added nutritional value in overcoming and preventing ill health. But what is the science behind the claims made for superfoods? And how can food be used to prevent and treat medical problems?

Carolyn talks to nutritional therapist, Suzi Grant and to Catherine Collins of the British Dietetic Association.
