Education
Pre-school learning 03 Sept 2009
When is the right time to start teaching your child to read?

SATS results released earlier this summer showed around 20 per cent of children leaving primary school without reaching the required level in English. With many five year olds starting school this week or next, should children be learning to read at home, or is it better to wait until the start of school?听 Jenni discusses the issues with Margaret Morrissey, who runs the Parents Outloud website, and the campaigning teacher, Phil Beadle.
