Hoglands - a tour of Henry Moore's house 7 Apr 2008
Mary Moore with her mother and father in Hoglands
The sculptor's daughter Mary remembers her childhood home

The Henry Moore Foundation has just opened a new exhibition of Henry Moore’s textiles – a treasure trove of vivid linen wall panels, furnishing fabrics and garments. The exhibition is being held in Hertfordshire, next to the family home of the sculptor Henry Moore and his wife, Irina, in which they lived for 40 years.

The house, called Hoglands, which has also reopened to the public for the summer, is filled with Moore’s art collection and has been faithfully restored by the Henry Moore Foundation in collaboration with his daughter Mary Moore. Clare WalkerÌýmeets Mary, to share her memories of the house, her mother and her father.

Visits to Hoglands at Perry Green must be booked in advance either by phoning 01279 843333 or visiting website.

‘Hoglands: The Home of Henry and Irina Moore’ edited by David Mitchinson, is published by Land Humphries, ISBN: 0 85331 961 8.
