Mothers sharing breast milk 26 August 2008
Breastfeeding
Is wet nursing making a come-back?

In countries such as the US and China wet nursing, or 'cross feeding', seems to be on the rise. It can be helpful if a mother is ill or cannot breastfeed her own child. And in this country milk banks are looking for donors once again as the fear of contamination recedes. Jenni is joined by Jean Rea from the NCT (formally National Childbirth Trust) and the medical historian Ornella Mosucci to discuss the history and current practice of sharing breastmilk.
