Questioning the Veil; aÌýnew book by Algerian-American academic Marnia Lazreg

The hijab has become part of the cultural landscape in Britain today as some Muslim women are choosing to cover their heads. But is it really a free choice? A new book out this week by the Algerian-American academic Marnia Lazreg, 'Questioning the Veil', asks why women are wearing it. Is it a choice or cultural coercion? Jenni is joined by Marnia Lareg who says Muslim women should reject the hijab, and by Shelina Zahra Janmohamed a young British Muslim who wears a hijab and is the author of a semi-autobiographical novel ‘Love in a Headscarf’.
