Rosehips have been used since medieval times for cooking - and for pranks. Children have used them to make itching powder. They are also听used as a syrup and contain twenty times more Vitamin C than the humble orange. In the Second World War, volulnteers were sent out to collect hundreds of tons of them every year - all to keep the nation healthy.
Anna Maclean went with the food writer, Mary Norwak, to a country lane in North Norfolk near her home.
