The story of the 'forgotten war brides' - the British women who married Czech or Polish pilots during the Second World War - is now being told in the biggest Czech film ever made.
Dark Blue World stars British actress Tara Fitzgerald - currently taking the Czech Republic by storm, it will open in Britain next Spring.
The reality is that the women were trapped on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain for the next forty years with most oppressed by communist regimes.
Despite living in the new democracies of Eastern Europe, life is still hard for them as they struggle to survive on meagre state pensions.
The Czech Parliament has now made one-off compensation payments to them, but so far the British government has rejected all calls for assistance.
Ray Furlong talked to some of the women in Prague.
The charity mentioned is the Air Bridge Association run by Jim Auton. For more details please fax him on 01507 343308 or write to Darrol House, Asterby, Louth, Lincs, LN11 9UG.
