Fanny Cradock Friday 16 November 2001
Fanny Cradock is now something of a cult figure in the States. So what is it that fascinates us about the fearsome TV chef?

Is it her terrifying concoctions of green mashed potatoes and pigeon breasts garnished with their feathered wings? Was it her glamorous ball gowns and ermine wraps?
Or maybe it was her battleaxe persona, most evident in her domination of her consort Johnny.
Stephanie Theobald, author of a new book about Cradock, is joined by chefs Marguerite Patten and Rick Stein to discuss why, a decade after her death, she still holds such a fascination for us.
Sucking Shrimp by Stephanie Theobald (Flame, ISBN: 0340768436, 拢10.99).
