Helen Chene , a former TV News Director, was raped by someone she knew in her home, seven years ago.
Prior to the rape, Helen had always considered herself to be a strong person, believing that she would report any criminal act against her.
In reality, when she was raped, she didn't prosecute, and she didn't get any help.
She suffered from recurring nightmares, intrusive thoughts and panic attacks, and moved away from the area.
It was only when she and her partner returned to Yorkshire, where the rape had taken place, that she decided to make a programme about why women don't report rape.
Helen talks to Jenni about how she came to terms with the attack. Helen's Story is on 大象传媒2 tonight (only showing in the North Regions) at 7.30pm. For more information please call the Radio 4 Actionline on 0800 044 044.
