Antenatal depression Monday 19 November 2001
About one in ten women are estimated to suffer from postnatal depression and recognition of the condition has improved vastly in recent years as health professionals are trained to spot the signs.

But at least as many women are thought to suffer from antenatal depression, though it's only with recent studies that its validity has come to be recognised.
Jenni is joined by Siobhan Curham, author of Antenatal & Postnatal Depression, who also suffered from it.
Dr Jonathan Evans, Consultant senior lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Bristol, joins the discussion.
