Official figures have recently shown that boys are four times more likely to be excluded from secondary schools than girls. However, a report published this week reveals a crisis in the way that girls view school.
The report from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation claims that, unlike boys, girls are more likely to exclude themselves than be excluded by disciplinary charges. It also claims that little resources are directed at this growing problem.
The report's author, Professor Audrey Osler, and head teacher Dame Jean Else join Jenni to discuss the problems girls are facing in schools.
