Queen Min was one of the most charismatic women in Korea's history who helped changed the course of her country in the 19th century. A grateful nation posthumously endowed her with the title Myunsung (or famous) Empress.
Tae Won Yi is best known for her role as Lady Thiang in The King and I. She's been extending her royal repertoire to include the part of Min in a new musical entitled The Last Empress.
She joins Jenni, along with Dr Keith Howard from SOAS, to talk about Queen Min's life and legacy. There will be 19 performances at the London Apollo Hammersmith from Friday 1st Feb - Saturday 16th Feb. This is prior to a season in Seoul from the end of March. London Hammersmith Apollo, Queen Caroline Street W6 Box Office: 0870-606 3400
