FANYs 2 Tuesday 19 February 2002
A memorable acronym which stands for First Aid Nursing Yeomanry, the FANY, an all-female corps was created in 1907. Primarily used as a first aid link between fighting units and field hospitals, during WW2 many FANYS went on to work in the SOE, the Special Operations Executive.

During the next two weeks we hear the reminiscences of some of the extraordinary women, most of whom have never before had the chance to tell the unique stories of their service in WW2. Today Marjorie Inkster talks about her role as a Radar Operator.
