Christine Paul Tuesday 12 March 2002
Where would you go to find an authentic 19th century silk fire-screen, as seen in Pride and Prejudice, or a human skeleton in a mahogany coffin featured in Jonathan Creek?

For almost 50 years it would've been Ken Paul's props and antiques emporium in Hampstead, London. But an era is now about to end as Ken's daughter, Christine, goes into retirement this week and the 1,500 lots go under the hammer at Sotheby's.
Christine Paul goes through the inventory with Jenni.
Prop Art, 13 - 15 March, at Sotheby's, 34-35 New Bond Street, London, W1, telephone number: 0207 293 5000
