MSBP is a perplexing phenomenon in which a parent mimics or induces illness in a child in order to serve their own psychological needs.
What else do we really know about this syndrome? Jenni asks Dr Gwen Adshead, Consultant Psychotherapist at Broadmoor Hospital and Dr Nigel Speight, Consultant Paedetrician at University Hospital, for their views.
