There has been much debate about the question of whether or not to tell someone that they are likely to develop a hereditary condition. But what happens when a child is adopted?

A future change in the law may permit birth relatives to let adopted children know that they could have inherited an illness. But if they have a right to know, do they also have a right not to know?
Baroness Barker, who is tabling an amendment in the House of Lords and Vivian Nathanson from the BMA Medical Ethics Committee join Martha to discuss the ethics.
