Its forty years since the effects of the drug Thalidomide were first realised.
Few in the medical profession expected these children to be able to work or live independently but many of them have confounded all expectations.
Martha talks to Agnes, who took 2 doses of the drug for her severe morning sickness and to her son Kevin, who was born severely disabled days before the drug was banned.
