Private healthcare providers offer their patients what they describe as "a comprehensive MOT". But what happens when things go wrong?
Worried by the delays in getting test results in the NHS, Bernadette Clements-Jewery booked a private checkup. She was given the all clear in May, but she still felt unwell and went back to her NHS doctor. By the end of July she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Bernadette tells Jenni why she thinks these tests need stricter regulation.
Peter Mace of BUPA and Saranjit Sihota of the National Consumer Council join Jenni to discuss these issues.
