Among Zulu women, fat has traditionally been seen as beautiful. But now it seems black women living in rural South Africa are succumbing to the Western trend for thinness.
A new study shows a rise in eating disorders. The research has been carried out at the University of Zululand in South Africa which compared 40 black female students from Zululand with a similar number of white British women at Northumbria University in Newcastle.
Jenni talks to one of the reports authors, Julie Seed, a psychologist at Northumbria University and an expert in eating disorders.
