Versace Wednesday 23 October 2002
Versace
It was Liz Hurley who put the name Versace on everybody's lips when she hit the headlines by turning out in a bit of cloth that fit where it hit and was held together with safety pins.

Anyone who likes to make that kind of splash has worn his clothes ? Madonna, Elton John ? even Princess Diana and he can still create a stir 5 years after his murder in Florida. His sister has carried on the family business. An exhibition of his clothes has just opened at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Corinne Julius talks to the fashion historian Valerie Mendes and the exhibition's curator Claire Wilcox.
