Malalai Wednesday 13 November 2002
Jamilla Mujahed is the editor of a new woman's magazine in Afghanistan called Malalai. The magazine is appropriately named after a nineteenth century Afghani heroine.

Little is known about Malalai in Britain. This is surprising considering that it was fighting against the British back in 1880 that made her famous. She is, however, a household name in Afghanistan.
Innes Bowen decided to find out who this famous Afghani woman actually was.
