After seeing her own family suffer the effects of smog in 1950's industrial America, the epidemiologist Devra Davis decided to take a closer look at how many died in our own smog disaster in 1952. Officially the Great London Smog killed 4,000 but Devra will explain how she has discovered that the real toll could be three times that amount.
Devra Davis joins Jenni to tell the story of the young woman scientist who 50 years ago was warning already about the dangers of lead in petrol.
