If you're looking out on your winter garden at the moment - you can probably see nothing but white if it's anything like mine.

Even in the best of weather, colour and fragrance are pretty rare combinations in the garden at this time of year, but as Corinne Julius found out in our series on winter plants, the Mahonia will stimulate both the eye and the nose.
