Mental Health, Drugs & Pregnancy Tuesday 14 January 2003
After suffering a decade of mental illness author and psychologist, Lauren Slater, became one of the first people ever to take Prozac.

But when she found she was pregnant, she had to make the decision whether to continue with the medication to safeguard her own mental health, or to stop taking the drugs because of possible risks to her child.
With a quarter of all people being affected by mental health problems during their lives, her situation is far from rare.
Lauren Slater joins Jenni to talk about the agonising decision she had to make. They will also be joined by Dr Alain Gregoire, who runs a perinatal clinic dealing treating women with mental health problems.
