Earlier this month the Italian supreme court ruled that interference in a marriage by an "overbearing and intrusive" mother in law was reasonable grounds for divorce.
Italian mothers are traditionally over protective with their children. A third of Italian men between 30 and 35 still live with their parents. Here they will enjoy their mothers cooking and clearing up after them, as well as emotional support. In Italy they call this bond Mammismo.
Italian teachers Tina Geraldi and Tony Liotti join Shelagh to discuss this phenomenon.
