There can't be many musicians who take a job flipping burgers at McDonalds for research purposes. But then Laurie Anderson doesn't exactly fit the mould of a conventional musician. You may remember Oh Superman from 1981.
She's in London performing Happiness - a piece lasting an hour and half based on her own life and experiences including her memories as a New Yorker of September 11th.
Laurie Anderson joins Martha to tell her how 9/11 changed her whole relationship with the city.
She is performing her latest project 'Happiness' at the Barbican on 7 - 11 May as part of the Bite:03
