Fay Godwin Fay Godwin is regarded as one of this countries finest landscape photographers. She was a late starter who began taking photographs in her mid thirties, and published her first book at 45. A passionate walker - she was president of the Ramblers Association for three years, she campaigned for walkers rights of way, and her photographs have been used to draw attention to the detrimental effects that man has had on the environment.

In more recent years she has moved from black and white to colour photography and from vast landscapes to intimate close up images of natural life.
Her current exhibition Colourworks is at the Independent Photographer's Gallery. Faye told Felicity Finch how her change to colour has not been welcomed by everyone.
Exhibiting at The Independent Photographer's Gallery, 4 Old Brewery Yard, High Street, Battle TN33 OAF. From Tues 03 June to Sat 21 June 2003, 11am - 5pm. Enquiries 01424 775650 or 838566
Details of retrospective exhibition touring - Brazil and Edinburgh - available on website
Faye Godwin is also author of 'Our Forbidden Land' Published by Jonathan Cape, ISBN 0224030159
